​Call For Presentations

Navigating Global Challenges

​On behalf of the Program Committee for the 2020 PACWEST Conference, I invite you to submit your interest in presenting a technical presentation at the conference.  The final selection of presentations will be based on several criteria including originality, technical and mill relevance, and support of the chosen theme.  At this time, we request that you submit; the title of the presentation and abstract/summary, authors name(s), their affiliation and contact information.

We ask that you commit to participate in the conference by March 27, 2020. You will be advised at the end of March if your submission has been accepted for presentation at Jasper 2020, along with rules for format, quality of material, length and rights.  There is no need for submitting a full written paper.

All presentations and their contents will be judged, with awards in a number of categories: 
  • Best Technical Presentation (Mill Paper) - HR MacMillan Trophy
  • Runner-Up for full length presentation (open to Consultants and Researches)
  • Best Supplier Presentation
  • Best Novice Presentation
  • Best Student Presentation

Please note that the time limit for presentations is 20 minutes, with an additional 5 minutes for questions and answers.

Submission Guidelines

PRESENTATION SUBMISSION DEADLINE - MAY 15
Presentations 
should be in PowerPoint Only and to be e-mailed to myself and Meeting Operations Chair, Andrew Madsen by May 15 - no more than 20 slides recommended - 1 per minute.
PRESENTERS' BREAKFAST THURSDAY - MAY 28
The presenter only (not all authors) and Sessions Chairs are requested to attend a Presenters' Breakfast at 7:30 AM on Thursday, May 28, in the Pyramid A&B meeting rooms. The Session Chairs and Speakers will have this opportunity to briefly get to know one another. It is important to attend as last minute details will also be reviewed.
SPEAKER INTRODUCTORY BIOGRAPHY
To aid the Session Chairs in their introduction of the speakers, please prepare a brief career biography of yourself. This should be included in or attached to the Author Information Sheet and received by May 15.
SPEAKER/AUTHOR REGISTRATION
Please note that presenters and co-authors are required to register for the conference. Registration information is available on the website.
PRESENTATION/JUDGING
All the presentations and their contents will be judged, with prizes awarded in a number of different categories. Please note that the time limit for presentations is 20 minutes. In addition, each speaker is allowed 5 minutes for questions and answers.
AWARDS BANQUET FRIDAY - MAY 29
Presenters (or appointed designate) are requested to attend the Conference Awards Banquet on Friday evening when the paper awards are announced.
GUIDELINE & DISTRIBUTION RIGHTS
Publication/Distribution rights are outlined on the attached Author Information Sheet.
Please forward copies of completed Author Information Sheet, including Introductory Biography and PowerPoint presentation by May 15 to both :
